Trident Property Advisory has been proudly independently owned for over 37 years. We connect tenants, capital and investors with property and our successes are a result of bringing the best people together.  

Drawing on decades of market experience, we offer insights and strategies to identify opportunities to revitalise underperforming office or retail properties which has led us to become the leading force for commercial property management in Brisbane.

We partner with our clients to maximise and sustain results, while minimising investment and operational risks. Our end goal is always to optimise portfolio worth through enhanced asset value and strong leasing outcomes through our three-pronged approach.

TRIDENT TIMELINE

1984

  • Just a year after Raine and Horne was launched, Shaun Douglas joined its Commercial Leasing arm, focusing on new projects in Brisbane’s CBD and fringe.

1989

  • Shaun acquired a substantial holding in Raine and Horne’s commercial and residential franchises.

1992

  • Shaun was appointed Joint-Managing Director of the Raine and Horne group.

1998

  • Shaun decided to move away from the Raine and Horne network and launched Chesterton International – a full service global real estate firm.

 2007

  • Ben Sikalas joined Chesterton International to head up its commercial leasing operations, later becoming a company director.

2018

  • Sam Christensen joined Chesterton International’s Asset Management Team, later becoming a company director.

2019

  • Chesterton International acquired Trident Corporation, a property advisory business with a strong 16-year history in Brisbane. The acquisition signalled the start of moves to reshape the business into a property investment management and advisory services firm including an interest in AFSL holding entity, Investment Management Co.
  • Chesterton International changed its name to Trident Property Advisory.

2021

  • Wanye Schulz and David McDougall jointed Trident Property Advisory as non-executive Directors and Owners.
  • Investment Management Co rebranded to Trident Funds Management (AFSL: 298979)

2023

  • Sam Christensen and Ben Silkas acquire equity in Trident Property Advisory and are appointed as Executive Directors.

Wayne Schulz

Non-Executive Director

Wayne is currently a non-executive Director of Trident Property Advisory and the Commercial & Risk Manager of MRL overseeing all commercial aspects of the MRL Property and Investment Portfolio.

Prior to MRL, Wayne spent 10 years working for Deloitte and KPMG in PNG. Wayne’s time in PNG included work on strategic reviews, mergers and acquisitions, valuations and due diligence for clients such as Nationwide Microbank, MTSL and Air Niugini.

David McDougall

Non-Executive Director

David has over 40 years’ experience in project and structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, valuations, capital raising and the
provision of strategic advice to governments and corporations.


David has worked internationally as a corporate and investment banker, was a Partner in KPMG’s Advisory Services Division and founded KPMG’s PNG Advisory practice.

Assistant Commercial Property Manager

Christian commenced his position at Trident Property Advisory in April 2024 as an Assistant Property Manager. 

Christian is personable and confident professional, with an excellent attention to detail. He brings great enthusiasm to meeting new people and building strong connections.

He has graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing. However, following his passion for all things real estate, he is also now completing his real estate Certificate IV while growing into the commercial property space. 

Claudia Worland

Property Intern

Claudia Worland joined Trident property advisory in March 2022 in the capacity of a Commercial Property Intern, with the objective to move from Department to Department in order to develop a strong competency in each. 

Claudia is currently studying a dual degree of Property Economics and Bachelor of Business majoring in Management at the Queensland University of Technology. As well as this she is completing a Certificate IV in Real Estate throughout her time with us. 

Following in Claudia’s fathers footsteps in the property industry, Claudia is passionate about learning each aspect of property within Trident as well as establishing connections and meeting new people. 

Dale Hoghton

Senior Portfolio Manager

Dale has vast experience as a Portfolio Manager within commercial, industrial, and retail assets.

Through his experience in Property Management, Dale has gained broad exposure to Government, Institutional and Private clients working on a wide range of commercial properties across Victoria, NSW and Queensland.

Prior to joining Trident, Dale’s previous experience includes the management of portfolios in excess of $350 million over combined NLA 50,000m2.

Dale prides himself on communication and building trust by understanding and meeting stakeholder requirements. He is organised and diligent while adding value through proactive management which has resulted in Client and Tenant satisfaction.

Julia Wu

COMMERCIAL PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Julia joined Trident in December 2020 as an Assistant Centre Manager, where she excelled in her role and quickly became a vital part of the team. In June 2022, Julia was promoted to Retail and Commercial Property Manager, taking on the responsibility of managing her own portfolio independently. After gaining valuable experience in property management, she was promoted to Commercial Portfolio Manager in 2024.

With experience in both the retail and residential property sectors, Julia understands the importance of effective communication with clients, tenants, and customers. She believes that teamwork is crucial to success and strives to foster a collaborative environment in all her endeavours.

Mary-Kate Lavenski

Business Operations & Finance Manager

Mary-Kate (MK) joined the Trident Team in 2021 as a Business Support Officer and was promoted to Business Operations and Finance Manager in 2024. MK brings a wealth of experience in finance and business management, having worked across various industries in Australia and South Africa, including legal, not-for-profits, and business broking.

MK leverages her expertise in business operations, office management, finance, marketing, and HR to support the team in exceeding client expectations while ensuring the company is well-positioned for future growth.

Mitchell Pilat

Senior Executive | Transactions & Advisory

Mitchell joined Trident in April 2024 as a Senior Executive with a background in commercial leasing whilst specialising in retail shopping centre leasing.  His professional development as a retail leasing executive saw him focus on maximising shopping centre performance through executing anti-cyclical long term lease deals. Mitchell’s attention to detail is instrumental in adding value to his assets, his comprehensive understanding of each respective shopping centre allows him to develop and implement strategic leasing strategies which generate long-term income for the Landlord. 

From 2020 to early 2022, Mitchell had a focus on delivering the $40 million redevelopment of Castletown Shoppingworld in Townsville – the redevelopment and repositioning of the centre generated a further $20 million to the centre’s valuation.

Through taking a personable approach to all professional interactions Mitchell has built and maintained a strong professional network which he highly leverages. Mitchell takes pride in his unwavering commitment to customer service which has facilitated the growth in his productive and profitable relationships. 

Mitchell has a Bachelor of Property Economics from the Queensland University of Technology which he attained in 2021.

Peter Gough

Finance Officer

Peter started his career in finance and accounting in 2010 and joined the Trident team in April 2017. Going hiatus in August 2018, travelling the Americas for a full year – he was eager to return to Trident in August 2019, back to routine and hit the ground running.


Peter is proud to be part of the Trident team, he is detail focused and enjoys working on the numbers within property portfolios to provide accurate financials on commercial and retails assets and to their tenants.


Prior to joining Trident, Peter worked the legal industry, he is passionate about enhancing his financial knowledge and always eager to further develop his skills and abilities.

Thomas Hall

Portfolio & Transactions Analyst

  

Tom joined Trident in May 2024 as a Portfolio & Transactions Analyst and brings a breadth of experience across multiple sectors and geographies, having worked within multiple specialisms and markets within both the UK and Australia.  

After undertaking a master’s in real estate, Tom began his career within Asset Management and Lease Advisory, before transitioning into the fields of Valuation, Agency and Development Consultancy as part of his Assessment of Professional Competence.  

Tom qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer in May 2020, before specializing in the field of Valuation, responsible for undertaking secured lending valuations, development appraisals and financial viability studies across all sectors on behalf of financial institutions.  

After relocating to Manchester, UK, in April 2021, Tom took up a role within a market-leading Capital Markets team, responsible for providing investment acquisition and disposal advice on a variety of asset classes across the UK. This included undertaking complex financial modelling and wider portfolio and asset strategy advice for a range of private equity funds, property companies and institutional investors, working on a variety of transactions valued in the region of £100M.  

In December 2022, Tom relocated to Brisbane, Australia, working within the Real Estate division of a global insurance broker, responsible for project managing national valuation instructions for insurance and financial reporting purposes.  

Tom currently holds MRICS and RICS Registered Valuer certification and became a member of the Valuers Registration Boards of Queensland and Western Australia in July 2023.
