Aspley Central: now a vibrant hub.

Established in the 1970s, the property formerly known as Aspley Shopping Centre and Aspley Arcade Shopping Village, set the benchmark for north Brisbane convenience retail centres for over 40 years. Architecturally re-imaged by Brisbane firm Myers Ellyett, the upgrade has refurbished the plaza space of the existing centre to meet customers changing needs and modernise the external façades of the existing shopping precinct while maximising exposure to significant passing traffic, and maintaining easy access from all directions to the properties’ generous on-grade parking.

The high profile centre, reborn as Aspley Central, has three distinct zones – takeaway food and dining, commercial and retail services, and medical and allied health services, connected by an internal light filled arcade.

The integration of the indoor-outdoor space has resulted in a stunning al fresco area which will be the vibrant hub of the centre. The redesign continues to support the ‘pop in’ style of convenience and provide a mix of food, retail and entertainment. Customers will notice the softer landscaped façade appearance and relaxed casual retail environment.
The new Aspley Central occupies a high profile location within the regional district of Aspley. Located just 13km north of the Brisbane CBD, the centre has excellent exposure to Gympie Road, Brisbane’s northern arterial road and gateway to Brisbane from the Sunshine Coast. Surrounded by the established prestigious suburbs of Carseldine, Bridgeman Downs, McDowall and Albany Creek, the business and retail district also supports growing suburbs of Aspley, Chermside, Wavell Heights and Geebung which are popular for young couples and families. The Aspley Central upgrade aligns perfectly with the Brisbane City Council’s $5.9 million streetscape upgrade for Gympie Road in Aspley. This project includes new pedestrian crossings, footpaths, planting, public artworks and centre-island landscaping.
